2014: The Blank Canvas

I walked into my job when “social media manager” still meant posting once a day and hoping for likes. The challenge? 20+ national brand profiles, zero established voice, and a mission to make alternative education feel less like a last resort and more like a lifeline.

So I built from scratch. Not just accounts – full ecosystems. Visual storytelling that turned dropout recovery into stories of second chances. Geo-targeted campaigns that didn’t just broadcast locally, but belonged locally. The result? 200% engagement increases across multiple markets and a reputation management system spanning 70+ locations that put us in front of 150,000+ annual consumer searches.

The Pivot to Precision

By 2024, the game had changed. Short-form video wasn’t optional – it was oxygen. I leaned into Reels and Shorts using freemium tools like Canva, CapCut, and yes, ChatGPT – helping generate 140,000 organic views. But I wasn’t just chasing vanity metrics.

The real breakthrough? Connecting social media to enrollment revenue. I integrated HubSpot CRM with our channels, building full-funnel attribution from contest entry to enrolled students. Suddenly we weren’t guessing – we were calculating. That infrastructure drove $1M+ in attributable revenue in 2025 alone while cutting cost-per-acquisition (CPA) by at least 15%.

Scaling What Worked

My final year was about amplification. Three national accounts. Paid and organic working in tandem. 70M+ impressions. 33% follower growth. 70M+ views on short-form content. Real-time community engagement with a 95% response rate backed by AI-powered chatbots.

I presented these numbers to C-suite leadership not as brags, but as blueprints by using custom Google Analytics dashboards to turn “post and pray” into “test, measure, optimize.“

The January 2026 Plot Twist

Eleven years is a lifetime in social media. I’d grown from creating content in a silo to orchestrating cross-functional strategies with Marketing and PR, SEO-optimizing everything from press releases to landing pages.

When the chapter closed this January, I didn’t just leave with a resume bullet list. I left with proof that authentic storytelling, backed by ruthless data discipline, can scale from zero to 70 million—and actually matter to the bottom line.
